Les Bouchers bien élevés

Translated as "well-behaved butchers," this restaurant certainly lives up to its name as it prides itself on serving well-bred meats directly from local breeders.

We enjoyed the beef tartare and veal tataki.

Ripaille

Founded in 1980 by Alain Laurent, who continues to greet guests and scout out the freshest ingredients for their daily specials, this restaurant encourages you to "feast," as its name suggests, on their traditional yet modern menu. This restaurant has had quite a few famous faces come for dinner over the 40 years its doors have been open.

Bloempot

French Top Chef finalist (season 4) opened this restaurant on Rue des Bouchers (a street of bistros for foodies). It offers outdoor dining on its cute, fairy-lit terrace or indoor dining in this old carpentry workshop, which has kept the exposed brick to give a rustic dining experience. Bloempot prides itself on its menu of local products from organic or wild farming. Closed on Sunday and Monday.

Le Comptoir Volant

"The Flying Counter" was founded by two childhood friends in 2013. Initially serving burgers from their food truck, they've now opened a few restaurants, including two locations in Lille. One has a takeaway feel, and the other is within the food court at Grand Scène, perfect for socialising with friends. Expect juicy burgers topped with French cheese sandwiched between bakery buns.

The Factory

If you're going to watch a match at the Stade Pierre Mauroy, then get a burger from here. We were at the stadium for the 2023 Rugby World Cup and had a juicy beef burger with delicious fries. It's a quick but equally tasty pre-match meal.

Address: 235 Bd de Tournai, 59650 Villeneuve-d'Ascq
