While Mexico might not be the first place you think of for pastries, there’s no doubt that Oaxaca is producing some top-notch baked goods.
Bodaega
With its striking blue exterior on a quiet street, this bakery nails both coffee and pastries, making it the perfect place to start your morning. The shop has one long shared table for enjoying those flaky bites, so do bare in mind seating is limited. We also love that you can see the bakers in action.

Pan Con Madre
An artisan bakery supplying great pastry and coffee all day long. They also offer breakfast and lunch, with a lovely outdoor terrace hidden out back to enjoy your pastry of choice. It's laptop-friendly too, making it a great spot to work or relax.

Tierra del Sol
A truly beautiful setting, where you won’t just find pastries but also traditional Oaxacan food and drinks being made—like tortillas on the comal or atole, a hot masa-based drink. Whether you come for the pastries or just to have a look around, make sure you visit. Tierra del Sol is featured in Michelin 2024.
