Best Coffee in San Sebastián, Spain
When you drink 2-3 coffees a day, finding an excellent cup of coffee while abroad is a must. This can be harder than you think. We sipped quite a number of subpar coffees, but thankfully, we found some worthy coffee places in San Sebastián so you don’t have to waste your euros or time.
Here are a few of our favourites in order (we won’t mention the ones not worth visiting):

The Loaf
Simona Specialty Coffee Club
Located in Gros, overlooking the river with an open shop front, this place is perfect for a tasty caffeine fix and a relaxed brunch or pastry.
Note: If you’re looking to eat, expect a small queue for a table at the weekend.
Motx
A small speciality coffee shop in the Old Town is offering coffee to go, along with pastries.
Syra Coffee
Born in Barcelona; Syra has five locations across San Sebastián too. Grab your coffee to go and pick up a pastry while you’re at it.
You’ll also find them in Sevilla, Madrid & Valencia too.
Old Town Coffee
This brunch spot offers indoor and outdoor seating as well as being specialty coffee roasters.
Tables tend to fill up quickly and they don’t take reservations, so there can be a waiting list. We grabbed a coffee to go, but we saw some of the brunch dishes and cake slices being served which looked very good.
You may also see Old Town Coffee Roastery beans being served elsewhere (we spotted them at Simona Coffee Club).
The Loaf
Loaf in Gros is a laptop-friendly coffee shop that looks out onto the Promenade at Zurriola beach; they also have 3 other locations in San Sebastián. The coffee was good, not excellent, but we very much enjoyed the Basque cheesecake here, which is supplied by BASSK (you’ll see many of these cheesecake stores as you wander around Donostia).
