We found coffee prices comparable to London’s, but with the quality to match. And there’s nothing we hate more than paying a premium for burnt or poorly brewed coffee.

A renowned coffee shop originating in Aarhus, Denmark; with a stylish location in Copenhagen’s fashion district, Møntergade.
La Cabra’s minimalist design and connection to the Another Aspect concept fashion store create a modern, clean space for enjoying specialty coffee. Don’t miss their irresistible baked goods while you’re there! Limited indoor and outdoor seating.

Orsa
Bold and unfiltered, Orsa’s motto is “f***ing good coffee” - and they deliver on it. Known for good tunes played on a record player, they even share playlists on Instagram. If you’re looking to work remotely, note that Orsa is strictly a no-laptop zone!

Our last coffee stop of our trip was at Sonny, where organic produce shines in their brunch menu. They serve coffee from renowned roasters La Cabra and KOPPI, making it a great place to enjoy an exceptional cup.

With eight locations around Copenhagen, Coffee Collective isn’t just about serving exceptional coffee - it’s also about supporting fair wages and better working conditions for coffee farmers. We loved grabbing a takeaway from their smallest shop in Telefonkiosken, a former telephone booth.

Original Coffee
Founded in 2012 by two friends, Original Coffee has expanded to 19 locations across Denmark, including a stunning spot on the rooftop of the Illum department store with a balcony for people-watching. They offer disposable coffee pods for home use too!
If you plan on doing some work, they are also laptop-friendly.

This roastery, bakery, and café is a triple threat, known for its great coffee and delicious pastries. With a minimalist interior, it’s laptop-friendly, and we couldn’t resist buying one of their branded tote bags to bring home.

Democratic Coffee
Located within Copenhagen’s main library (hence the name), Democratic Coffee is known for its great coffee and buttery croissants - in particular, their queue-worthy almond croissant. They’re also famous for their love of ceramics, so don’t be surprised if your coffee is served in a beautiful handmade cup. They promote the potters on their Instagram, too; how lovely!

Other Coffee Stops Worth a Visit
We also enjoyed coffee at La Banchina—a cosy 14-seater by the water with a no-reservation policy. They open at 8 am, with closing hours that depend on the weather, sometimes staying open late on sunny days if the vibes are right.
We couldn’t resist HART for their perfect pastries by Richard Hart, served with Prolog coffee.
We also grabbed coffee to go from Hotel Bella Grande at Restaurant Donna. We stayed here, so this was our coffee to get ready in the morning.
